Fix Relationship Problems
With These Love Acts
Ah, to be in love. It feels
great.
Then, time passes, things happen,
and it can begin to fade, to be replaced with relationship problems like
arguing and distancing and loneliness.
A lot of relationship problems can be helped simply by learning some love
acts to take every day. True love is best replenished by expressing it
into direct action. If you are fortunate enough to feel some true love,
find ways to express it directly. Show it off, shine it's light into your
world. See if it doesn't help fix any relationship problems you may have.
Don't wait for it to be reciprocated.
How can you perform love acts? There are many ways, but one good way is to
listen. Listen to your mate or love like your life depends upon it. Focus
completely on what they are saying. Listening in this way is a powerful
gift to give to another person. Making them feel heard and understood when
they share with you is a very generous and nurturing act.
Another expression of true love is simply direct eye contact with the object
of our affection. Looking them right in the eye, drinking them in while
they or we are talking. The eyes are the windows of the soul, and direct
connection is powerful. Studies show that direct eye contact tends to fade
over time in relationships. Keep it alive!
Then, of course, there is the direct action of touch. Not just in the
bedroom, but find ways to touch out in the world. Hugs and/or resting a
hand on their shoulder. People are often touch starved, so un-starve them!
There’s a lot more to expressing love, but listening, looking and touching
are always a good foundation. Don’t keep the light of your love under a
bushel basket. Take it off and let it shine as often as you can, and see
what a difference in makes in your – and our – world.
Take these action steps today:
Try more small talk with your
mate. Just ten minutes a day. While doing this, listen intently.
Make them feel heard and understood.
While doing that, look them
directly in the eye. Make solid eye contact.
Try just these two things every
day for the next week and see what happens.
